EPL: Lewandowski told to pick Arsenal over Man Utd

Published

Bayern Munich striker, Robert Lewandowski has been advised to choose a move to Arsenal over Manchester United.

The advice was given by former Premier League title winner, Chris Sutton, Lewandowski.

The Poland international has just one year left to run on his current contract with the Bundesliga champions and has publicly declared his desire to leave this summer.

United, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with Lewandowski.

Lewandowski’s preference is believed to be Barca, but Sutton has said if he eventually decides to come to England’s top flight, the 33-year-old should pick the Gunners.

“I have seen that Lewandowski has been linked. If he doesn’t go to Barcelona, then he will go to Manchester United. But why?! Why would he want to go to Manchester United? There are bigger and better options out there.

“Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs, at this moment in time and Arsenal are a better option, at this moment in time than Manchester United. One club seems to be stable under Arteta, I am not saying Arteta has torn up too many trees, but they are in a better position and they are better placed than Manchester United,” Sutton said on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Aubameyang wins league title despite playing just 8 minutes

Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has become a league champion this season.

This is despite the Gabon international playing just eight minutes of football.

Aubameyang was recognised as part of LaLiga champions Barcelona’s title-winning squad despite the former Borussia Dortmund star being a Chelsea player since last summer.

The Catalans were handed the Spanish top-flight title on Sunday after a 4-2 win at Espanyol.

The African star was part of Xavi’s side at the very start of the season before he joined Chelsea and came off the bench for a late cameo in their opening game against Rayo Vallecano.

In the top flight of English football, players need to have made a minimum of five league appearances to be considered a member of the title-winning squad.

But in Spain and elsewhere in Europe that is not the case, meaning that Aubameyang’s eight minutes game for Barca are all he needed to be crowned a champion this term.

Aubameyang has endured a dreadful season at Stamford Bridge, having scored just three goals in 21 appearances.
